In partnership with Lancashire Constabulary we are delighted to offer a course specifically tailored to drivers over 60 years old who are resident in Lancashire.
The course is designed to give drivers confidence in their skills and fine tune some aspects of their driving that may have changed over the years, as well as refresh some aspects of the law and the Highway Code.
You can refer yourself, a friend or family member to this course. If you are interested please email NDORS@lancashire.pnn.police.ukwith your or the driver’s name and contact details. The team will then make contact with more information and get a course booked.
The sessions are split into two; both are practical and both will need to be completed. Clients are met at an address specified by them, by a qualified and vetted approved driving instructor. Clients will go out in their own vehicle on roads and routes they are familiar with.
The course format is:
Session 1: A 2 hour practical during which the clients driving style will be observed and guidance and improvement techniques offered by the driving instructor.
Session 2: A 1 hour practical within 3 months of the first session; this is to evaluate the effectiveness of the techniques previously shown and reinforce any training given, again with a driving instructor.
Course Fee: This opportunity is part funded via the Lancashire Road Safety Partnership; to ensure we maximise the limited funding a fee of £35.00 will be taken at the point of booking using a credit or debit card.
